Everybody is given a bank account of 24 hours a day. The empowering idea is that we get to choose how we are going to spend that account. One of the best anecdotes for creating a great day starts the moment you wake up in the morning. One of the few things we do have control over is our thoughts. We can think thoughts of resentment and pessimism. Or we can think thoughts of gratitude and optimism.
1. Make a list of 10 things you are grateful for. .....This is not as big as it seems, especially first thing in the morning. Examples: I am grateful for my bed, my home, my clothes, my car, my health, my family, my dog, my job, my friends, living in the United States.
2. Take 10 deep breaths. Breathing stimulates oxygen and blood flow in the body and gets you in touch with your life force.
3. Write in a journal. This is a priceless tool that can help you get in touch with your unconscious self.
This will provide valuable information for you to how to navigate your energy for the day.4. Put on music that inspires you and gets you energized. Excuse the pun, but this a great way to start your day out on a good note. You will feel the vibrations of the music in your body and mind all day long. When I am looking to feel energized I put on James Brown's "I Feel Good".
5. Feel the air. Open a window or door and feel the air on your face take in the scenery and see it in a new light. As if you had seen it for the first time. The fresh sense of awe and appreciation. Most importantly to reflect on the untapped, limitless opportunities of the day.
